From Shillong to the World: How One Indian Innovator Santosh Sunar is Redefining the Future of Ethical AI

Shillong, Meghalaya — 10th Nov 2025

In an age where Artificial Intelligence is rewriting the rules of society and when most of the countries and big tech giants are running to develop a working Ethical AI  , a quiet revolution has begun in the hills of Meghalaya
From a small corner of Northeast India, Santosh Sunar, Founder of BeTheGuide® Indian Mentoring Academy, has achieved something no independent researcher in the country has done before — integrating an Ethical AI framework into Europe’s Open-Science Cloud through CERN’s Zenodo. This is indeed a proud moment that needs for India as it cements Indian influence on Ethical AI globally. This milestone, and achievement must indeed be  applauded by every leaders, researchers or policy makers in every level be it globally, nationaly or locally.

That breakthrough — his creation called BTG AEGIS AI™ (Artificial Ethics Governance & Intelligence System) — is now being recognized as a pioneering step toward making AI systems transparent, fair, and accountable worldwide.

“AI should empower humanity, not replace it,” says Sunar. “Our framework ensures that technology thinks responsibly before it acts.”

Built under his larger research model UZBBUZ AI™, BTG AEGIS AI™ introduces a governance-first architecture for machines — one that audits decisions, reduces bias, and aligns algorithms with human values.

This is not a corporate product. It’s a vision. And that’s what makes it powerful.

Within weeks of publication on Zenodo as an Independent and bootstrapped organization, the paper recorded 500+ downloads and views in just 14 days from researchers across continents and entered the European Open-Science Cloud (OpenAIRE) pipeline — a validation normally reserved for leading universities like Oxford, ETH Zurich, and MIT. Thus sealing its position among the top 3% of Zenodo CERN researchers or institution.

A New Voice from India’s Northeast

While India has often been seen as a technology hub, ethical AI research has largely remained concentrated in Europe and the United States. Sunar’s work breaks that pattern.
For the first time, a framework conceived, written, and published from Shillong has crossed into the European research graph, symbolizing that innovation from India’s periphery can now reach the center of the global stage.

The Shillong Times was the first to highlight this milestone, calling it a “rare integration of Indian innovation into Europe’s scientific cloud.”

What BTG AEGIS AI™ Stands For

At its core, BTG AEGIS AI™ is built to answer one question: Can intelligence be responsible?
The system embeds ethical checkpoints inside AI workflows, so that every output can be traced, explained, and corrected.
It’s like adding a moral compass to machine logic — one that any government, company, or research lab can adopt as a framework or service.

An Open Invitation to the World

Sunar isn’t keeping the discovery behind closed doors. Through the BTG AEGIS AI™ Global Research Community, he’s inviting students, professionals, universities, PhD scholars, and innovators to collaborate and scale the framework across industries — from healthcare to cybersecurity.

He believes collaboration, not competition, is the path to responsible AI.

“India has given the world the concept of dharma — moral balance,” Sunar adds. “BTG AEGIS AI™ is that same balance, written in the language of algorithms.”
